Today, on the way home from work, I took the no.3 bus as per usual. The bus was pretty packed and there were no room to sit so I headed to the back of the bus and I saw this! I was really unimpressed, the guy looked at me and moved his foot and I just shook my head! He saw that I was unimpressed! The guy's shoe was dirty and so was the seat. I wasn't ready to sit on a dirty seat. He kept his foot there even until he left the bus! Many thoughts went through my head, how I could deal with the guy, but then thought to myself, violence isn't worth it for a prick like him. So I figured I'd catch his act on my blog. I took a shot of his foot, a shot of the full bus, and a shot of his full body including his face. If you ever see this guy on the bus, I'd say, don't do him any favors! If there was a way to revoke his access to OC Transpo buses, I think he should be suspended! I see his actions as bad as anyone who puts graffiti on a bus or damages the bus. That seat is now dirty because he was ignorant and has no respect for other people's property. I have no respect for this person! This might sound like a rant, but someone has to say things when they see things that are just wrong!
Yeah Nick, I was thinking of drawing a parallel to your story of about 6 months ago, where someone wouldn't take their bags off the seat. And yes he's a douche!
ReplyDeletesuch gentlemanly behaviour out of you, I would have clocked him.
ReplyDeleteYou know there's like a $50 award for anyone reporting this type of behaviour. You go up to the bus driver, he writes this down, talks to the guy / calls in the OC cops and you get some dough. Win/Win/MFWin ..
& if you don't want the $$, at least you get the pleasure of being "the guy that did something".
I had no idea of that Nelly, but if you saw the amount of people in the bus, there was no way for me to get to the front of the bus and tell the driver, doesn't really work when the bus is so full! That's too bad, I could have used an extra $50 award! :) Maybe my tweet will catch someone with the city or OC Transpo
ReplyDeletemaybe "someone" forwards your blog post to OC.. maybe you fill http://www.octranspo1.com/about-octranspo/customer_service . maybe I go to bed and wake up to a Friday :)
ReplyDeleteIn my experience, violence isn't really necessary and neither is a trip to the front of the bus. A mere, "Excuse me.. I don't think this *point finger and shake fists irrationally* is appropriate". Most people dread a bit of confrontation, and will do absolutely anything to go back to their comfortable state of irrelevance :)
I remember the #3 and how squishy it can get. Had to take it to the Hellenic centre when I were a bit younger ~ I'll pass on that odd route any day.
Thanks again Nelly, I just filled the OC Transpo incident report with a link to my blog.
ReplyDeleteEwww..yuk...and so rude! Makes me not want to take OC Transpo when I am in Ottawa next week.
