Saturday night treat...

Tonight's photo was my Saturday night treat. I had some artichoke asiago dip, some wine and watched Machete. Not a bad combination if you asked me :)

Morning frost...

This really reminds me of my childhood. It's something simple, it's about winter, but it's neat to see what frost can do to a window or the effects of frost on a window. I remembered seeing this last year on this window and thought to myself, someday I'll try to take a photo of it. I took some photos this morning. I'm not truly doing it it justice, but it was my first attempt at capturing the frost.

A victorious evening!

Our team won at soccer! This isn't an unusual occurrence, we win about half our games, but tonight just felt good. We went out as we usually do, but we went to a different spot. We went to the Clocktower Pub. The food was pretty good, but the service was pretty crappy!

I decided to take a few team photos from within the pub and at Lansdowne Dome where we play.

and then we see the violent Sara!

A long day...

Today's day at work was a long day, and no better way to finish it off with putting up my photo :)

Here's a couple of creative shots that I took. I decided to play around my subject for today. It was well worth it and well enjoyed with good friends :)

Winter street view..

Wasn't sure what photo I was going to take today. I decided to take a street view, a winter street view. A bit boring, but what can I say, I came home with a headache and decided to stay home. Had a nice long nap and then realized I had to take a photo, and at this time at night, I figured I would look around and see what I could take. So here's my photo for today.

Winter dedication or just craziness!

Some people just make me wonder. Is it really worth it? I hadn't selected my shot for the day, but I figured I'd get something in the downtown area as I was playing volleyball tonight at a high school gym downtown. I had a few minutes to spare before the game and after I parked my car, I looked around and nothing caught my eye. As I walked closer to the school entrance, right next to the entrance I noticed this bicycle. At first I was thinking, oh my, someone left their bicycle here before the snow, and then took a second look and realized, nope this bike is got here tonight. If you look under the lower frame section, you notice dark glob, well that's dirty snow that has gathered from splashing from the front tire. The person riding this bike even has a contraption to keep his hands warm over the steering wheel! Now, I might do silly things and some people might even think they are crazy at times, but I would not be driving my bicycle at -29 degrees Celsius (including windchill and that is -20 Fahrenheit for those readers South of the border) in the winter. The non windchill weather was around -19 degrees Celsius, and figure the -29 is with regular windchill, not the extra draft/wind that the bicycle produces. Well, not sure what else to say other than this made for an interesting photo today.

Another gaming Sunday...

Tonight was another gaming night. My friend Tariq wanted to host a gaming night, and 7 of us decided to come in and play. Tonight's game was Arkham Horror, which isn't the easiest game to understand, when first looking at it, but it is a fun game. If you ever feel like playing the world of H.P. Lovecraft, try this game out!

Snow covered car...

Today was a snowy day...lots of snow, well not too too much snow, I've seen way worse, but I figured that I hadn't really captured any snow yet in my photos, I'd capture my car covered in a little bit of the white powder.

No.3 are you there?

TGIF! Another Friday, well the second Friday that I'm posting on here :)

As I walked out of my building to take my bus home, I thought to myself, here's nice shot, buses almost as far as I could see. Hoping that my bus was there, but I wasn't so lucky, I had to wait about 20 minutes for my bus, something not to surprising with the No.3 bus with OC Transpo. Rarely is it ever on time. I have a friend who calls it "OC Turtle" and I definitely know why he's nicknamed it that. Before this past July, I used to always walk to work as work was just around the corner, and not it's not so much around the corner, so I take the bus.

Red sky and the Dominion Tavern...

Today's photos were not an easy pic. I took a few photos and decided to stick with two. The first was a shot of the sky with a nice contrast of red with blue as the sun was coming down and I also like the 2 green lights in the shot. The second show was from the Dominion Tavern where I joined a few colleagues after work for a few drinks. Since it's a classy spot, I figured I'd catch it in a photo.

The bromance...

Today's photo is kind of a joke. Tariq a good friend of mine invited me out for lunch and tweeted the invite if anyone wanted to join us. As he got to the restaurant, he told the waitress that there would definitely be two of us, but there might also be someone else joining us. And we ended up ordering our food, etc, and we ate, and at one point the waitress came over and said "is that other person really joining you, or was this just a dinner for two" and added a wink. She then joked around and said it's ok to have a "bromance"...funny enough, another friend Blaise texted Tariq to see if we were still there and said he'd come and join us. And the waitress made fun of us when he arrived saying that we called him to come and join us, etc. Anyways, all good and fun, but Tariq wanting to be a nice guy, and not have Blaise eat by himself said he'd order dessert and the waitress said do you want two spoons with that, and again she gave me a wink. I said no, I'll actually order one also. So she came out with these two desserts with the sparklers all lit up! All to say it was funny and the food was good.

Another night of gaming...

Tuesday night's I usually gather with a few other friends and play boardgames. A few months ago we decided to start a Descent - dungeon campaign. I have never played D&D, but this is supposedly partly similar as we play through dungeons, etc, but we do not dress up or anything in the like.
Sometimes there are some points of frustration, as you can see the fist on the table (joking, wasn't so frustrating, but made for a good shot). Even though, sometimes we do get frustrated with Stephane, as he's a sneaky dungeon master. I figured I would take few extra shots to show the various sides of the game, and to see how much space this game takes, even though I'm not showing all the extra pieces that can come into play, etc, I'm basically showing the main game area and on one shot, there's another piece which is the map.

You wouldn't believe what I found my assistant doing...

I never know what I'm going to take for my photo, and sometimes the photos come by very easily, sometimes I have to dig for ideas. However, today's photo choice was an easy one. When I found my assistant who had fallen asleep on his computer, I thought to myself, this is the shot for today!
Wasn't a tough choice and didn't need to dig too deep, the NRCat just made it easy for me.

After he realized that took the photo, he took the time to wave hi and pretend that it only happened for a few seconds. I wonder how long had he been sleeping there!

Sunday game night...

Today's photo was taken this evening. I visited a good friend, who cooked dinner (lasagna) and then we played Skip-BO. Some people might have thought my reference to game night was related to football or hockey, but nope it was a good ole card game. Even though, I did catch the NFL games today, and we played while the second game was also playing on TV. If you've never played Skip-BO, it's a fun and easy card game.
